Our Commitment:  

We are committed to shaping the young men of this area on and off the mat.  We believe that sound fundamentals, hard work, and integrity pay off on the wrestling mat and also in life.  We are dedicated to helping these competitors grow in their knowledge, love, and respect for this great sport, while equipping them with the tools to reach their goals as an athlete and person.    

Our Coaches:   

Matt Dennis- 2x Alabama State Champion and State placer for Erwin High School.  Wrestled in college at the University of Tennessee Chattanooga.  Matt has most recently been involved in coaching the successful USA Wrestling youth program in Trussville.

Wade Preston- 6A Alabama State Placer at Hewitt-Trussville High school under Coach Mark Snider. Wrestled in the NCWA program at Auburn University under National Greco-Roman Champion and NCAA placer Reid Lamphere.  Competed as a Welterweight in MMA competition as a member of  Auburn Freestyle Fighting. Wade has six years of coaching experience between Auburn High, Auburn Jr. High, Team Alabama, Trussville Takedown Club and Hewitt Middle School.  He has coached numerous state and county champions.


About CGC:

Cahaba Grappling Club is a USA Wrestling Chartered Club.  Practices are held twice a week in the off season and three times during the season with various open mat opportunities.  CGC participates in off season and in-season tournaments locally as well as regionally and nationally. We are open to a wide range of wrestlers and grapplers with specifically designed curriculum for wrestlers of all skill levels. We believe in sound fundamentals, hard work, good technique, and strong conditioning.

Club Dues:

Club Dues are $50 per month for direct debit, and $60 per month cash or check, and are payable monthly on a date of the member's discretion.  Visitor's are welcome to practice with CGC free for the first two weeks.  Discounts are available for siblings or any students sharing the same parent/guardian.  USA Wrestling membership card is required for participation. Membership cards are available at TheMat.com.  AAU Membership is optional, but recommended  for those who wish to participate in AAU tornaments and matches. AAU membership cards are available at AAUsports.org
